What CleanSpace does with your data
Written to be checked, not believed. Every claim below can be verified with a network monitor.
Data handling
- File names, paths and sizes are read on your Mac to build the scan, and never leave it.
- Nothing is deleted until you select it and confirm it.
- There is no account, no cloud sync and no crash or usage reporting.
Permissions it asks for
- Full Disk Access. To measure folders macOS protects, such as Mail and Safari caches. Without it the scan still works, it just cannot see those folders.

Does CleanSpace upload my files or file list?
No. Scanning, sizing and deleting all happen on your Mac. The only request CleanSpace makes is to activate or renew your SecureMacApps licence, and that carries your key and a hash of the Mac’s hardware ID — nothing about your files.
Is the scan free?
Yes. Scanning is free and shows real sizes, and you can clean up to 500 MB without a subscription. Unlimited cleaning comes with SecureMacApps.
Why does CleanSpace ask for Full Disk Access?
macOS hides some caches (Mail, Safari, Messages) from apps without it. CleanSpace only reads sizes there; it works without the permission and simply skips those folders.
